84-UV-25 long distance collimator
Collimating Lens for long distances, 200-2000 nm
The 84-UV-25 fiber optic collimator for long distance is designed for coupling larger free-space beams to optical fibers. These large-diameter lenses are especially suitable for collimating light at long distances in open air and have been tested to distances of up to 40 feet.
Divergence of the beam (theta) from a fiber coupled to a lens depends on the fiber diameter (d) and the lens focal length (f).
Tangent (theta) = d/f
This 25mm lens has a 100mm focal length leading to extremely small divergence angles. For example, a 1000um fiber will have a divergence angle of < 0.5 degrees.
The lens includes a hole for coupling to a post mount.
